21/01/2021 17:36:10The Strathmore, after leaving service in P&O, was used to carry troops from Australia to the Middle East during WW2. My father belonged to a field artillery unit which together with many other units, sailed from Port Melbourne on the Strathmore in late 1940, arriving in Palestine on 19th December.
