OCEANA at sea
Medium: Oil on canvas (varnished)
OCEANA (6,610 tons) was in collision with the German barque PISAGUA off Eastbourne in 1912 and sank with the loss of 14 lives. Gold and silver bars worth £700,000 were recovered before the wreck was blown up.
