Description:
The notice advised passengers that: "The ship was ordered out of Barcelona owing to serious revolution having started in Spain this morning". It was the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in July 1936 and as a result P&O's STRATHMORE was forced to proceed with her passengers to Gibraltar.
