Description:
P&O Print Advertisement for Christmas and New Year Cruises which appeared in THE BLUE PETER in the 1930s. The port depicted is Bizerte in Tunisia which, with its enviable strategic location, was once owned by the French and home to a Russian Fleet. In just a few short years after this advertisement was first published, the world was at war and Bizerte was occupied by the Germans in 1942. It was regained by the allies on the 7th May 1943.
