Emigration to Australia

P&O has had links with Australia for over 150 years since CHUSAN arrived in Sydney in August 1852 and in the decades following WWII thousands migrated to Australia on P&O ships with new schemes to encourage them such as the '10 pound Pom' assisted passage scheme. Browse this gallery to see images of P&O ships that transported the migrants, the Australian ports where they started their new lives and ephemera from the voyage.
