Shipshape

For Sir Hugh Casson and his team  the realisation of their designs had been four years in the making.  There had been so many elements to consider, so many details to design before CANBERRA could be, by Casson's own definition, "shipshape" - "it describes a visual quality - a sense of fitness for purpose combined with instinctive grace - that makes every ship, large or small, something more than an assembly of bits and pieces."   

 

Now all she needed was the passengers, for whom she was designed...
