Carefree at Sea

Despite her "ultra-modernity" CANBERRA kept to tradition with dance lessons and deck games and the quieter concerns of reading, writing, cards and afternoon tea.  The advent of TV sets in the cabins was new and her 'widescreen' cinema boasted stereophonic sound but, in all other respects, the new ship offered the opportunity to indulge in the time-honoured tradition of travel by sea:

 

"to enjoy a short spell of being idle, spoilt and removed from all terrestrial cares and worries.”
