In 2012, DP World celebrated 175 years of P&O, with the launch of ‘P&O Across the Oceans, Across the Years’ published by the Antique Collector’s Club. The book, written by Ruth Artmonsky and P&O Heritage’s curator, Susie Cox, draws heavily on P&O’s wonderful collection of art and archives. A second book, P&O: A History, was published by Shires in collaboration with P&O Heritage.
Since acquiring P&O in 2006, DP World has been committed to the preservation of the venerable name, history and heritage collections of The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. Thanks to that support, P&O Heritage continues the daily work of preserving P&O’s past. Through various digitisation projects, web developments and museum loans, we are working hard to increase public and online access to the unique archive and collections of one of the best known shipping companies in the world.
