Today the P&O Company and name, continues under the auspices of P&O Ferries, P&O Ferrymasters, P&O Maritime, P&O Estates and P&O Cruises.

P&O Ferries is the leading British ferry company with over 20 ships including the largest and most modern in the fleet, Spirit of Britain and Spirit of France, which were launched in 2011 and 2012. The Spirit class vessels, operating between Dover and Calais, carry twice the freight capacity of their predecessors (180 vehicles) and cater for 2,000 passengers and nearly 200 tourist cars.

In total, P&O Ferries carry over 1.85 million freight units a year on 9 separate routes between the UK and Belgium, France Holland, Ireland and Spain, and operate up to 640 sailings a week. It is one of Europe’s leading freight ferry operators and together with P&O Ferrymasters, P&O provides the full package of tailor-made transportation and logistics services.

P&O Maritime originated from Beaufort Shipping Agency, the ship agency and operations of P&O in Australia and developed as P&O Offshore Services servicing the oil and gas industries in Australia in the 1960s. 50 years on, P&O Maritime is a specialist ship operator with a diverse fleet of vessels, serving Governments and industry around the world.

P&O Estates, owned by Dubai World company Istithmar, specialises in commercial real estate, mainly in the UK, whilst P&O Cruises is of course a well-known cruising brand within the Carnival stable.
