31/01/2019 13:35:22I believe this was not called Sirsa in 1950 but MV Betwa when it was built and not name changed until the 1970's when it was bought by BI. I sailed on the Betwa in 1955 and 1956 and remember it well

31/01/2019 13:39:01Jim, Yes you are right the SIRSA was previously the BETWA and the name changed in 1966 when she was sold to British India Steam Navigation Co. 08/12/2023 14:18:43i joined the Sirsa mid 1967 for a deep sea voyage to Bombay,Madras,Visakapatnam,Calcutta and return via Durban(x2) as the Suez was closed.Then did a continent trip at Christmas to Hamburg and back to drydock in Middlesborough and then finally signed off in Tilbury02/02/1968---Joined12/06/1967.Very slow trip 3 legged Doxford!
